WXNOW Service

WXNOW is an APRS messaging service that provides the nearest weather station reports to the calling user's last beacon position.

Usage Format

Send an APRS message to WXNOW with:

<n[earest]> [Num Stations]

Command Parts

• n or nearest — Required command keyword
• [Num] — Number of weather stations to return (default: 1, max: 10)

Examples

• n — Closest weather station to your beacon
• n 3 — 3 closest weather stations
• nearest 5 — 5 closest weather stations

What You Get Back

WXNOW responds with weather data from the nearest APRS weather stations, including temperature, humidity, wind speed/direction, and barometric pressure when available.
